Nurses and techs from Temple University Hospital joined fellow members of the National Nurses United Union in Washington DC last week to rally and advocate for nurse to patient ratios.

 

PASNAP, the nurse's local here in Philadelphia, won a contract fight against Temple University Health Systems after a month long strike in April. 

 

"Obama Escucha!, Estamos en la Lucha" March for Comprehensive Immigration Reform

On Sunday, March 21, 2010 Around 1,000 people from Philadelphia and surrounding areas packed into buses and headed towards Washington D.C to join up with the 200,000 already present there for a march for  Comprehensive Immigration Reform. You may not have heard about this incredible gathering of people in the media because it was overshadowed by the few dozen protestors gathered there also against the Healthcare Reform bill that was being passed. Regardless of that, the power of the people was definitely seen and heard in Washington and throughout the country.
 

Media, Art and Culture on the Hill

MMP is spending the week in Washington DC for the annual meetings of our partner and ally organizations through the Media and Democracy Coalition along with the Media Action Grassroots Network (MAG-Net).
